ICCIAUS Committees

ICCIAUS proudly announces the upcoming launch of our new think-tank initiative, ICCIAUS Committees.

Industry leaders will host round table talks revolving around their specialised sector, with the discussions designed to share knowledge and expertise that will allow members to gain invaluable insight and ensure the prosperity and success of their businesses.

This was inspired by an ICCIAUS initiative launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, which saw the exchange of knowledge and our members helping each other and ensuring both the strengthening and survival of their businesses in the face of the challenges presented by the global pandemic.

This initiative will be exclusive to selected ICCIAUS members, partners, and sponsors only.

Join the ICCIAUS community to grow your network, gain relevant industry insights, and realise the full potential of your business with the Australian-Italian business community.

Ospitalita' Italiana Website Update
image
ICCIAUS is excited to announce the update of our website, tasteitalian.com.au, which is dedicated to showcasing restaurants across New South Wales, South Australia, and the Australian Capital Territory that have achieved the Ospitalita' Italiana Certification.

Ospitalita' Italiana aims at promoting the vibrancy and excellence of Italian cuisine, culture, talent, and ingredients, effectively acting as a benchmark for the Italian dining experience outside of Italy.

A restaurant with this qualification must meet a number of criteria designed to distinguish the restaurant as authentically Italian through careful evaluation of dining experience, ingredients, restaurant culture, chef qualifications, and more.

ICCIAUS in partnership with Ospitalita' Italiana have certified over forty restaurants across three states and territories. In our guidebook and on our website, we go beyond just providing the details of each restaurant; we also share the story behind their team and a recipe of a select dish.

We welcome you to visit our new and improved website and to dine with the qualified restaurants.

Euro - the round of January confidence surveys will be completed, with the release of the German IFO index, the Istat indices in Italy, Eurozone flash PMIs and the EU Commission’s sentiment indices: surveys are expected to show a clear slowdown trend. The initial estimates of 4Q GDP should outline a contraction in Germany and growth just above zero in France and Belgium, while economic activity in Spain, should result more sustained than in the other main Eurozone countries.
United States - the main event of the week will be the FOMC meeting, expected to set the stage for a likely rates’ liftoff in March. As regards January data, the flash PMIs should worsen somewhat due to Omicron, and consumer confidence is expected to correct further. December data personal spending should increase and personal income should stay on an uptrend. The core PCE deflator is expected to rise. The first estimate of 4Q GDP is forecast at 5% q/q ann. whereas the Employment Cost Index should confirm the acceleration of labour costs.
