The Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Australia (ICCIAUS) proudly presents an exclusive forum aimed at fostering synergies between Italian and Australian companies in the energy transition space.

A one-day forum and exhibition event, organised by ICCIAUS in collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy in Sydney, and with the support of the Italian Embassy in Canberra and Austrade, the Energy Transition Forum aims to serve as a pivotal platform where leaders, innovators, and stakeholders in the energy sector can push the transition agenda, exchange ideas, and chart the course for a sustainable energy future.

Prysmian Australia has been locally manufacturing energy and telecom cables for more than
70 years. With two state-of-the-art sites located in the Sydney suburbs of Liverpool and Dee
Why, Prysmian Australia generates a total annual capacity of 57,000 cable tonnes a year. It is
their local development capability which allows for the adaption to client’s developing needs in many different aspects.
Prysmian Australia has a solid experience as supplier of cables and solutions, with a portfolio of
successful construction projects such as the Sydney North West Rapid Transit, Sydney Light Rail,
WestConnex M4 East and M8 Tunnels. This is also extended to Telecomm with the supply of optical ribbon cables for the National Broadband Network (NBN) roll out, as well as the Renewable
sector, where a number of local wind and solar farm projects have been successfully delivered to
drive Australia’s “green aspirations”.
The diverse landscape of Australia has also seen Prysmian’s social ambitions at the forefront of their operations. Prysmian has adopted a global Diversity and Inclusion Policy focusing on diversity in terms of gender, age, and culture. Prysmian is developing Talent through training and development as well as attracting new talent through their Build the Future, Graduate Program. We are an industry-led cooperative research centre for energy and carbon transition established in
2020 with $68.5M of Commonwealth funding. Our 80+ partners who cover the whole value chain from end user to networks including technology companies, governments, and many of Australia’s leading
energy researchers provide us with cash and in-kind contributions. This combined funding allows us to invest approx. $350m of total resources over 10 years to catalyse lower energy costs and a substantial reduction in carbon emissions.
RACE has five programs comprising 11 research themes. The five research programs are: RACE for
Business, RACE for Homes, RACE for Networks, RACE for EVs and RACE for Change (covering cross-sectoral issues). RACE’s research learnings will be driven into the market through our market
transformation programs to deliver our targets of reducing energy costs, cutting carbon emissions and increasing customer load flexibility to allow increased penetration of renewables in the grid and improved reliability.
Our aim is to deliver over $3.8 billion of cumulative energy productivity benefits and 20Mt of cumulative carbon emission savings by 2030. We want our legacy to be transformative and sustainable change in energy service provision and carbon emission reductions.
We launched three key projects in 2023 aimed at influencing transformative change as Australia
transitions to better energy productivity and strives towards decarbonisation. The key projects are
Strategic EV integration, Energy upgrades for Australian Homes and Pathways to Net Zero Precincts.
