Welcome to ICCIAUS' first Business Luncheon and in person event since restrictions with Andrea De Felip, Consul General of Italy in Sydney and Sistema Italia.
 
Italy was one of the first western nations to be hit extremely hard by the COVID 19 pandemic. This saw one of the world's hardest lockdown imposed on the entire nation. Australia closed its borders to Italy in mid-March stopping the 1.2 million people a year that travel for leisure, work or family reasons.
 
Join us on for an update on the social, political, and economic situation in Italy and how Sistema Italia is working for you in NSW and Australia.

The Draft Budgetary Plan confirms that the net Budget in the strictest sense for 2021 will be accommodative by almost 25 billion euros; however, thanks to the payment of initial subsidies from the EU, the final amount could come close to the 40 billion mark. The main criticalities, not so much in 2021, but over the following years, will be the uncertain funding of some items, such as the extra revenue expected from the fiscal retroaction effects of the Next Gen EU programme.

Local artists have collaborated on the relaunch of Sydney’s Gucci store

One of the most recognisable mononyms in Italian design, Gucci needs no introduction, even well outside of the fashion set. Now, the almost one-hundred-year-old brand has recruited local creatives to help revamp its flagship store in Sydney’s CBD.

Luxottica and Versace announced that Luxottica will share part of its robust COVID-19 prevention, detection and research program in Italy with Versace in the country. A successful element of the program revolves around active surveillance and risk management.
The objective is to detect infected individuals, even asymptomatic, through swab testing of risk profiled employees. This program, which was developed in conjunction with the University of Padua, will now be adopted by Versace.
