The 2021 Federal Budget explained the new position of Australia for the upcoming year

On Wednesday 19 May, ICCIAUS in collaboration with 11 other international Chambers of Commerce, organised a sold out Business Luncheon with The Hon. Josh Frydenberg MP, Treasurer of Australia discussing the 2021 Federal Budget.

The Treasurer addressed the international students situation, the opening of the borders, the Government's commitment to support economic recovery and the Australia environment policies.

The Treasurer said that it is now up to the institutions to work with state governments to slowly bring back international students to Australian shores. However, he remained firm that international borders will not open until the middle of next year. Also Australia’s energy transition was a hot topic of the luncheon. The Treasurer said the country is investing heavily in hydrogen as a new energy source.
